Wattpic Polaris is a new adjustable single axis polar tracker for flat rooftops.

Its main target application is for residential and commercial grid connected PV systems on flat rooftop buildings.

It is characterized by its startling simplicity, based on an inclined single tracking axis oriented north-south. This axis is moved using a DC linear actuator under an astronomical control algorithm.

The electronics and the mechanics are so simple that the resulting system cost is very close to that of a fixed installation, while the yearly energy yield can be increased between a 25% and 35%, depending on location.
