“Wattpic has developed its own autonomous, stand alone system solutions, patented”
Wattpic FSA Container is a PV based plug-and-play energy system, with all its components packaged inside a standard shipping container. The only component to be assembled on site is the PV field.
The shipping container facilitates transport, both for initial delivery and for an eventual change of site. At the same time, we are only using recycled containers, increasing the environmental friendliness of the product.
Systems are to be offered in three standard sizes: Basic (8-11 kWp), Super (21-29 kWp) and Mega (41-56 kWp). Solar apertures are, respectively, 60 m2, 155 m2 and 300 m2. PV field inclination can be configured on demand to 10, 25 or 45 degrees. The Basic and Super models are packaged into a 40 feet container, while the Mega uses a 45 feet unit.
This new product has been designed as an easy to install and movable sustainable autonomous energy system, in order to cover several possible applications: village electrification in developing countries, farmers with difficult grid access, remote area electrification, movable energy box for NGOs, feeding telecommunications equipment, etc.
Shipping container makes three roles: its the shipment system, it encloses all the components (batteries, inverters, protections and options like diesel generator or demand side management equipment), and its the structural support for the PV modules.
The structure and module mounting system is designed to facilitate fast assembly and disassembly. A team of two people without special equipment is enough for the on site job.
At the same time it has an anti-thief feature, being all the modules secured using a new exclusive key lock system which can be removed by the user when needed.
Wattpic FSA Container is also available with solar tracking option using Wattpic's patented Centaurus technology. This single axis azimuthal tracking system allows for an energy yield increase of more than a 30%, depending on location, and has the additional benefit of a better distribution of solar power along the day, thus improving the energy profile and decreasing the need of battery support.
The Systems are configured based on customer requirements and directly shipped to location. Customer specifies its energy requirements: peak power, energy storage needs, and any desired options, like solar tracking, demand side management or diesel backup. The system can be installed and ready to be used the same day it arrives to place without needing more than a local electrician to plug it to the consumer.
This new product is based on the patented Wattpic FSA System concept for autonomous renewable energy systems.
